How to commission Artwork from Dagnall

Philosophy

From time to time both individuals and corporations who have searched endlessly to find the right piece of Artwork for their home, office or special gift just can’t find what they are looking for.

This is where a special commission comes into play. Some Artists are not comfortable with this process because it is tough to align the expectations of the client and the artist.

I have had years of experience and I am totally committed to satisfying almost all requests. Corporately I have been commissioned to provide selective works for corporations like BMW, International property developer Walton International, The Forzani Group, Interior designers and numerous individuals all of who I am proud to say are satisfied customers.

How do we get started?

You will be asked to describe the project, timelines, purpose (Gift, surprise, fundraiser, home or office collection, Corporate gift etc.)

You may want to review my Archives section on the website to see if I have produced something similar to what you are looking for. This will be a good point of reference.

Next we will to review the size of the piece you are trying create. (Standard sizes can help to keep cost of materials down)

If you have reference photography available like a location in a room where the piece will hang and dimensions that too can be helpful. A digitial photo is ideal.

Wall colors and paint charts can also be helpful in this process.

Describe as completely as you can your requirements.

Click send, and we will personally be in touch with you to review the project, discuss references if you need them, and all the details of the project.

You will then receive a firm quotation for the piece we have agreed to by email, and an outline of the terms and conditions for payment, shipping, framing if required etc.

How long does this process typically take?

Once we have agreed on the project, and I have received the deposit you can count on a 5-7 week period.

3-4 weeks for production

1-2 week for drying time

1 week framing and shipping by ground or other method as requested.

As an added feature, if time allows I can also be available for special presentations. This usually only applies to work being delivered in Calgary.
